About

Who is ruth?

Ruth is an avid collector of facts and ideas. She considers them to be lego blocks for the mind. Her pursuit of them has led to two Masters's Degrees: one in Christian Education (Western Graduate School of Theology) and one in Journalism (Regent University). An assortment of occupations has also contributed to her stash of information. She has been a teacher, LD therapist, a tour director for a large dairy operation, a taxi driver for the Amish community, a used car saleswoman, and a tow truck driver for her family's business. Ruth, under the pen name Verity Moore, used her mind-legos to build the allegorical Christian fantasy world of Capular.

  • The idea of change and new experiences excites her until she realizes just how enormous the task will be. Then she looks for the nearest escape hatch. But by then it's usually too late to bail out.
  • There are few things she dislikes more than the logistics of packing and moving from one location to another: at last count she has moved 27 times.
  • She has two masters degrees: Christian School Education and Journalism.
  • She has taught in elementary, high school, and trade school, including seven years as a learning disability therapist.
  • She has also been a waitress, car salesman, tour director, and tow truck driver.
  • She's currently a taxi driver for the Amish, using the time while she waits on her passengers to write her rough drafts. She still prefers to do that first draft with pen and paper.
